Aaron Taylor
Mental Health Advocate & Speaker | CBS Sports Analyst | Super Bowl Champion
As a Super Bowl Champion, College Football Hall of Famer, and CBS Sports football analyst, I have always been passionate about teamwork, resilience, and human transformation. Despite my resume, my success did not come easily. I battled anxiety and depression with the same regularity as blitzing defenses, with the internal opponents proving to be more difficult to handle than the external ones. In my widely publicized NCAA Mind Body and Sport article, Game Face Isn’t the Only Face, and in many events around the country, I reveal the hidden obstacles faced by elite athletes and weekend warriors alike. In the powerful 30 for 30 Seau film, I opened up about the death of my former teammate, Junior Seau, who died by completed suicide after losing his battle with CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy) in an effort to help those struggling with their own mental health challenges know that they are not alone in their fight.
Over the last two decades, I have identified and benefitted from many of the key “best practices” of a successful mental health game plan. When used together, these exercises, modalities, and treatments have positively and profoundly impacted my life, while also proving they can also help improve the mental health of almost anyone.
As it relates to our mental health, I firmly believe that there is no situation too difficult to be improved, and no unhappiness too great to be lessened. So whether building championship cultures or championship mindsets, I am committed to helping everyone on the planet understand that their life experience is something that they largely can control.
I bring honesty, humor, courage, and vulnerability to everything I do as a way to inspire others to look deeper – so that they can go farther.
